The first full week of winter sports contests is in the books. Here is a recap of our teams’ first week of action.

Swimming & Diving

The swimming and diving teams hit the road for the first time this season when they traveled to Hampton on Tuesday. The girls lost 101-80, while the boys tied 89-89.

Wrestling

Varsity wrestling traveled to Fox Chapel last week before hosting and winning the North Hills Duals over the weekend. The junior high squad wrestled in the South Fayette Tournament over the weekend.

Girls’ Basketball

The varsity girls’ basketball team is 3-1 to start the season after beating Beaver and West Allegheny last week. The team won those two games by an average of 22.5 points. Both middle school teams also picked up wins in their home openers.

Boys’ Basketball

The JV and varsity boys’ basketball teams did not play last week after going 1-1 in the tip-off tournament. The freshman team picked up its first win of the season by beating Butler last week, while the middle school teams each went 2-0.

Unified Bocce

The unified bocce team has not yet started playing matches this winter. The first match of the season for the team will be at Hampton on December 18.

Gymnastics

The gymnastics team has not yet started participating in meets this season. The girls’ first meet of the winter will be against Burrell and North Allegheny on December 21.

11:00 AM - Girls' JV Basketball vs North Allegheny (MS Annex Gym)

12:30 - Girls' Varsity Basketball vs North Allegheny (MS Annex Gym)
