The WPIAL basketball brackets have been released, and we now know what the first round will look like for both the boys’ and the girls’ basketball teams.

The boys will play first on Monday, February 19. Despite having a bit of a down year, the boys’ basketball team still managed to punch a ticket to the playoffs. They have been awarded the nine seed and will travel to Fox Chapel to face the eighth-seeded Foxes. Tip-off is at 8:00.

Meanwhile, the girls’ team put together one of the best seasons in program history, winning its first section title (co-champions) since 1980 and clinching its first playoff berth since 2016. The girls will put their regular season success to the test as the eight seed against ninth-seeded Plum. The Indians’ home matchup with the Mustangs will be Tuesday, February 20 at 7:00.

All home and away postseason contests are WPIAL events, which means that tickets will need to be purchased via GoFan. Tickets go on sale on Tuesday, February 13 at 10:00 AM and are $5 for students and $7 for adults. All tickets will be $7 at the gate.
