His name is Nathan Schanbacher. On Tuesday, he was Nathan Shotmaker.

Schanbacher poured in 30 points to lead the North Hills 9th grade boys basketball team to a 63-50 victory against Butler at the Senior High gym. It was the second win in as many days for North HIlls and ran the Indians' record to 2-1.

Schanbacher (pictured) had 14 baskets and made 2 of 4 from the free-throw line. He also had 5 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal.

The game was close for a while in the first quarter before blitzed Butler in the final few minutes of the opening quarter and took a 25-9 lead into the second quarter. The Indians increased the lead to 20 points (37-17) at halftime, as Schanbacher scored 17 points in the first two quarters.

Butler closed to within 14 points at one point in the second half before North Hills increased the lead to more than 20 again.

Jackson Long was key to the win with 11 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals. Kelly McCarthy had two 3-pointers and 6 points while Aaron "Hammer" Loritts pulled down six rebounds.

North Hills' next game is next Tuesday against Fox Chapel.
