The year 2022 had a nice ending for the North Hills freshman boys basketball team.

North Hills played in the North Allegheny Tournament and won both games to finish first in its pool. The two victories ran North Hills' winning streak to six games and the Indians will head into the New Year with a 6-1 record.

After defeating previously undefeated Upper St. Clair on the first day of the tournament, North Hills played Norwin on Wednesday. North Hills had a sluggish first half and trailed by 20-15 at the break. But the Indians stepped on the gas in the second half and scored 44 points to come away with a 59-48 victory.

The game was close throughout the second half, but North Hills came on strong down the stretch for the win. North Hills had three players in double figures. Nathan Schanbacher scored 15 points in the second half to finish with a game-high 19. Jackson Long was key to the win, scoring 10 points in the fourth quarter to finish with 18. Ethan Guszczynski also came through with 13 points.

North Hills is next in action on Tuesday at home against Seneca Valley. Game time is 3:30 at the Senior High gym.
