After seeing its 13-game winning streak snapped two days earlier, the North Hills boys freshman basketball team got back on the winning track this past Friday.

North Hills defeated visiting Fox Chapel, 43-36, at the Senior High. The win lifted North Hills' record to 14-2.

Although North Hills led by as many as 10 points in the first half, North Hills had trouble scoring in the third quarter and the contest was tied, 24-24, heading into the final stanza. North Hills stepped on the gas in the final seven minutes and outscored the Foxes, 19-12, in the last quarter.

Jackson Long scored eight of his team-high 13 points in the final quarter for North Hills. He also added four rebounds and three assists. Aaron Loritts handled the inside for North Hills, scoring seven points and pulling down 10 rebounds.

Nathan Schanbacher added nine points and seven rebounds while Mike Waters had his best game of the season with seven points, including a 3-pointer.

North Hills is next in action Tuesday with an away game at Avonworth. But the North Hills basketball program has a special "7-8-9" night on Wednesday at the Middle School gym, where the varsity plays. There will be a tripleheader with the North Hills 7th-8th--9th grade teams playing back to back to back. It all starts at 5:30, with the 8th grade game set for 6:30 and the 9th grade game for 7:30.
