One day after getting blown out in the North Allegheny Tournament, the North Hills 9th grade basketball team responded with an easy win Thursday.
North Hills had its best offensive output of the season and defeated Montour, 61-21.
North Hills had balanced scoring as all eight players dressed scored at least three points. Austin Ellis led North Hills with 14, his third consecutive game in double figures. Jack Broderick was next with 13.
Nick RIchter and Mike Murphy added 9 points each. Caleb Andrews and Jack Siwiec also hit 3-pointers to get in on the scoring act.
North Hills led by only 13-9 after the first quarter, but blew the game open by outscoring Montour by 26-6 in the second quarter.
On Wednesday, North Hills was defeated by an excellent Chartiers Valley team, 71-32. North Hills is next in action next Thursday at home against Mt. Lebanon.
